overview
The World of Heremod is a very large, sprawling planet with tremendous diversity of cultures, creatures, and mythology. It is too large for a catholic understanding so it is viewed primarily from the lens of the Kingdom of Mabrundai in its latest phase: The Age of Smoke, started 1093 year after the Kingdom's founding.
the age of GHOSTSThe primordial before. The time when a handful of beings sculpted the raw energy of an emerging reality into the shapes of the future. The time before time. It was an infinite moment, lasting forever and no time at all.
Not much is known of the Age of Ghosts save that it is when the Codex of the Infinite was written and the Old Gods had their downfall. It was this age where the spirt was placed in its physical prison, when energy became flesh, when death came to life. |
THE AGE OF BONES
Year 0 - 2,345
The Age of Bones is a bit of a catch-all from the time the earliest humanoids emerged from the prison-city of Den to travel the world. It was the dawn of time, full of fear and misery, but also the spark of civilization.

The New Gods roamed the land freely, powerful magics shook the land's very foundations, and ancient structures of cyclopean stone cast shadows that darkened mountains.

To be mortal in the Age of Bones was to be prey... or legend.

THE SHINING AGEYear 2,346 - 2,647
The Shining Age began when the New Gods were banished to the Heavens and their influence limited to the faith of their worshippers.
Settlements blossomed and expanded as mortals began to make their mark on the world around them, from agriculture to architecture, from magic to warfare, mortals learned. But the world was still a dangerous place and their achievements were dwarfed |

The age of smoke
Year 3,442 -
The Age of Smoke began on the first Fireday of Den (November), 1093 MR with the creation of Hector Agil’s Can Factory. Hector Agil is credited with most of the mass assembly techniques that started this age of industry. To the embarrassment of humans and red elves alike, Hector happens to be a Halfling.
A small museum dedicated to Hector Agil describes his life and times and the value of his inventions, contains replicas of the pages of the Codex of the Infinite that prophesied this age, and sells souvenirs (mostly snow domes and hats). |
